POKHARA, March 26: Voter education training for regional trainers has started in Pokhara, Kaski keeping in view of upcoming local level elections slated for May 14.
Organised by the Regional Election Office, Pokhara, a total of 70 trainers from various 12 districts including Gulmi, Palpa of Lumbini zone and other 10 districts of Dhauwalagiri have participated in the training, said election office chief Ganga Lal Subedi.
1,000 construction workers to get skill-based training
The participating trainers include from different offices including district election officers, secondary level women social teachers, resource persons at District Education Office, social officers and social section officer at District Coordination Committee.
The trainers are bound to share skills and knowledge gained from the training with volunteers to be employed at village level for the polls as part of voter education programme, said Subedi.
The programme aims to decease invalid votes and encourage the participation of as many as voters in the elections, he said, adding that volunteers would be employed for one month beginning April 9 for the programme. RSS
