The NRNA's International Coordinating Council had entrusted the task of online voting to the Australian-based Vero Voting Company. After receiving the email communication from the company, the five-member election committee had announced the election results, declaring Badri KC as the winner. However, controversy emerged when Dr Keshav Paudel, a candidate for the vice-presidential position, received zero votes from Kathmandu, raising questions about the election's credibility.
Presidential candidates and other stakeholders have called for the annulment of the election results, alleging irregularities. Khagendra Neupane, declared as the vice-president-elect, has also declared his refusal to accept the outcome, citing concerns about the fairness of the election process.
