Eight persons allegedly involved in attacking bouncers with sharp weapons arrested

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Police have made public eight people who were arrested in connection with the indiscriminate attack against two men including a bouncer in Galkopakha in Kathmandu with Khukuri in Sorakhutte, Kathmandu.

The District Police Office, Kathmandu made them public on Thursday by organizing a press conference. The group of eight youths fled the scene after making indiscriminate attacks against two men with sharp weapons, bricks and beer bottles near Hanuman Chowk, Galkopakha, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26. 

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bharat Bohra said that Kathmandu Police arrested them after a thorough investigation. Those arrested include Jeevan Tamang, 33, residing in Sailung Rural Municipality-2, Dolakha, and currently residing in Jorpati, Gokarneshwar Municipality, Kathmandu, Dorje Sherpa, 27, currently residing in Gokarneshwor Municipality, Sindhupalchok Barhabise-8, Binod Tamang, 29, residing in Balak Rural Municipality-2, Gokulganga Rural Municipality, Ramechhap. 

SSP Bohra said that Bikas Shrestha, 28, is Bel Bahadur Khatri of Sindhupalchok Melamchi Municipality-10. Similarly, Pradeep Tamang, 29, of Melung Rural Municipality-3 of Dolakha, Deepen Lama of Kavrepalanchok Roshi Rural Municipality-4, Rajendra Khatri, 29, of Melamchi Municipality-10, Deepen Lama, 32, of Koshi Rural Municipality-8 and Karan Dangol, 26, of Chabahil are also among those arrested.

SSP Bohra said that they were arrested as they were hiding in different places of Kathmandu during the investigation. He said that 3 Khukuris, NS motorcycles and bricks were found at the incident site. Similarly, torn blooded clothes were also recovered from the arrested personnel. 

SSP Bohra said that the further investigation against the arrested persons is still underway. Kathmandu District Court has also allowed Kathmandu Police to detain them for seven days for further investigation.
