KATHMANDU, Dec 19: The airlines operators in the country are encouraged to see a sharp rise in the number of people interested to take mountain flights

The mountain flights were halted for about nine months due to Covid-19 pandemics.

The passengers are delighted to see the scenic views of the mountains including Mount Everest-- the highest peak of the world.

Foreign and domestic tourists are found lured to take mountain flights also because the airlines companies have offered a huge discount in the normal airfare lately.

A total of eight mountain flights were made on Saturday itself- five by Buddha Air and three by Yeti Airlines.

The flights are conducted at 7:00 am from Tribhuvan International Airport to various sites every Saturday.

The Yeti Airlines had made a single flight last Saturday due to various reasons.

A total of 300 passengers flew in the Buddha Air to see Mount Everest and its adjoining mountains. The Buddha Air shared that it is planning to increase mountain flights other days as well.

The Yeti Airlines is also planning to schedule the mountain flights twice a week. According to Spokesperson of Yeti Air Sudarshan Bartaula, the airline is scheduled to make two mountain flights on Sunday.
