KATHMANDU, Dec 5: Mountain flights have resumed after eight months of closure due to the pandemic.
Two private air services- Buddha Air and Yeti Airlines- resumed their mountain flights on Saturday targeting domestic tourists . Buddha Air conducted three flights- one ATR-72 and two ATR-42- flying 150 passengers to view the mountains.
Similarly, Yeti Airlines flew with 92 passengers in two separate flights. These two companies will regularly conduct mountain flights every Saturday. They said the number of flights will be increased as they draw more passengers.
Spokesperson at Yeti Airlines, Sudarshan Bartaula, said the mountain flight is encouraging and the booking for additional flights is satisfactory.
The current season is suitable for mountain flight. Buddha Air charges Rs 8,900 for a person per flight.
