CHITWAN: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has highlighted the significance of education for the prosperity of human life. 

In her address today to the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Adikavi Bhanubhakta Secondary School based in Narayangadh of Chitwan, the President said the education played a vital role in leading the human life towards prosperity. 

“Education spreads knowledge and social awareness, giving a deep message about humanity, social goodwill and unity,” the Head-of-State said, seeking the sensitiveness of educational institutes on the matter. 

As the president said, community schools have a greater responsibility towards the society and it is their responsibility as well to ensure quality; vocational and technical education. On the occasion, the President wished progress and prosperity of community schools. According to her, expected outcomes of the State’s investment in education field have not been possible. There is the national goal of upgrading the nation to the status of the developing nation from the least developed one. 

President Bhandari stressed the need to optimize the usage of land surrounding the rivers by preventing sweeping of land conserving the natural heritages as sands and soils. "In the context of widespread adverse effect of climate change, our efforts should be aimed at climate change risk management." 

On the occasion, House of Representatives Krishna Bhakta Pokharel shared that the government was effortful to make primary and secondary school education free. Stating that education was the right of people, he called for a positive change in education sector. 

Altogether 1,362 students were enrolled in the Aadikavi Bhanubhakta Secondary which was set up as a branch of Bal Kumari Kanya School in 2025 BS.
