EC bans PM, top CA officials from visiting by-election constituencies

KATHMANDU, March 23: Election Commission has banned visits of prime minister, ministers, Constituent Assembly chairperson and vice-chairperson from visiting six constituencies where by-elections are scheduled to take place on April 10.

Issuing code of conduct for the upcoming by-elections in Morang-5, Morang-7, Dhanusha-5, Kaski-1, Rolpa-2 and Kanchanpur-4, the commission on Sunday asked the top public office holders not to visit these constituencies until the elections date, according to Radio Nepal. The Commission has imposed the ban keeping in view the possibility of misuse of state fund to influence voters.
