According to EC, preparations are underway for forming a high-level committee under the chair of election commissioner for effective monitoring of election process. The commissioners on the committee will be assigned to monitor the election process regionally. [break]
The EC decided to form the monitoring committee realising the need of effective monitoring to hold the election in a free and fair atmosphere, Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav said.
Meanwhile, the EC has already granted permission to 53 domestic and three foreign observers´ groups to monitor the November 19 election. There are around 70,000 observers in these groups.
The EC has already written to Australia, Thailand, Republic of Korea, Japan and Britain requesting to send observers along with parliamentary team for the observation of upcoming election.
Likewise, the Election Commission in the South Asian countries are invited for the election monitoring, according to Commissioner Dr Rambhakta PV Thakur.
Likewise, the cases of violation of the election code of conduct are reportedly increasing as the election date is approaching nearer and the parties have intensified the election campaign.
The EC said that it was seriously responding to the petitions in relation to the violations of election code of conduct.
