DHARAN, Sept 14: The youths of Dharan were desperately waiting for the Tuborg Stage ‘Let’s Get Loud’ concert to come to their town as soon as the concert series kicked off a month back. They were getting increasingly impatient to witness Nepal’s popular bands and pop and rock singers perform in their hometown.

The organizers had also arranged for a musical truck show in different cities of Eastern Nepal before the mega concert in Dharan, which only made the youths more desperate. Finally, on Saturday, their long wait paid off and people of not only Dharan but the entire Eastern region gathered at the compound of Public High School. [break]

Even though the organizers were to open the gate for the concert at 1 pm, there was a long queue of youths and music enthusiasts long before that. The concert started an hour late, but many music enthusiasts were still queuing up to enter the compound to attend the concert.

The event started off with the rocking performance by the popular singer Nima Rumba. The singer showed up at the stage saying “Namaste Dharan” and sang his songs like Priyasi, Aau aau na, and Huri batas, making the audience want more of his music. The police force had a hard time controlling the crowd. More security personnel had to be appointed as the crowd went uncontrollable.

After Nima’s performance, Robin and the New Revolution started their famous Keta keti song. The band then performed Jati maya layepani, Yo hamro deshma, etc. The youth of Dharan sang along the band with full enthusiasm.

Then was the turn of Abhaya and the Steam Injuns who didn’t disappoint the crowd in any way. Their brilliant performance on their hit numbers Timro laagi, Ramauna deu na, and Sirima siri compelled the audience to sing and dance along the songs.

Abhaya and the Steam Injuns was followed by yet another popular band 1974 AD. They enthralled the audience with their evergreen hits like Timilai piratile bandhaulaa, Gurasai fulyo, Sambodhan and Yo mann ta mero Nepali ho among others.

When Sabin Rai took to the stage in his hometown Dharan, more audience was pouring in to the concert ground. He sang his super hit songs Kinaki ma maya garchhu, Guransko pheda muni, Maya jalaima etc.

According to the organizers, more than 10,000 audiences attended and enjoyed the mega concert in Dharan.
