KATHMANDU, April 30: The death toll in the devastating earthquake reached 5,844 by Thursday evening while the number of injured reached 13,393.

According to Home Ministry, Sindhupalchowk has suffered the biggest human casualties as the death toll in the district alone reached 16,77.
According to Nepal Police, the death toll in Kathmandu reached 1,106. Nepal Police informed that it has already handed 5,344 dead bodies to the relatives and has been trying to identify the remaining dead bodies recovered.
