SURKHET, Sept 21: The District Police Office (DPO) in Surkhet has taken legal action against Chabi Saud for his disgraceful behavior towards the Principal of Sudarshan Primary School in Chaukune Rural Municipality-1, West Surkhet.
In an alarming incident, Saud, who was under the influence of alcohol, attempted to assault the teacher during an event organized on September 17. Police apprehended Saud after a video of the incident, which had gone viral on social media, drew their attention.
In the video, Saud can be seen menacingly brandishing a sickle and directing threats at Principal Bhandari. The distressed teacher is seen desperately trying to disarm Saud. Shockingly, Saud had entered the event brandishing the sickle, declaring his intent to harm both Principal Bhandari and the school management committee chairman.
Principal Bhandari recounted the terrifying ordeal, stating that during the event at the school, Saud, a former student, barged in with a weapon, attempting to attack her. A case related to his indecent behavior was filed against him at the district police office on Thursday.
Principal Bhandari explained, “While I was in my office, he forcefully kicked the door and attempted to assault me with the sickle he was carrying. Fortunately, I managed to disarm him.”
Additionally, it has come to light that Saud had a history of alcohol abuse and disruptive behavior. Chaukune Rural Municipality has called for action against those involved in abusing the principal.
DSP Laxman Shahi, the spokesperson for the District Police Office in Surkhet, confirmed that Saud had been arrested for his threatening behavior towards the principal. “We arrested Saud on Wednesday, and on Thursday, the teacher herself filed a complaint regarding his indecent conduct,” he stated.
