JAJARKOT, Jan 11: The farmers in Jajarkot district have suffered badly due to drought for long after they sowed wheat and started vegetables in this season.

The farmers complained that the wheat plants and vegetables have started to dry up in the farms due to lack of irrigation system and no rainfall for long.

Bishnu KC, a farmer from Khagenkot VDC-5 in the district, said that most of the winter crops have dried up for lack of water. The area has not witnessed rainfall since mid-August.

Saying that there was no good production of the paddy and other summer crops earlier this year, KC added the farmers in the district have suffered further because of the draught. RSS
