DRI files cases against traders allied with 17 firms accused of revenue leakage worth Rs 2.36 billion

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) on Wednesday filed cases at the High Court, Patan, against the proprietors of 17 firms accused of being involved in revenue leakage. The DRI has sought to recover Rs 2.36 billion from the accused.

According to the DRI, it has grilled traders associated with Shangrila Trade and Suppliers, Mahalaxmi Trade Concern, Chandan Suppliers, Hanuman Suppliers, Delight Enterprises Pvt Ltd and GM Import and Export. Similarly, Ansar Manjeel Traders, PR Nirman Sewa, New Dip International, DN International, Himalayan Nepal Suppliers, RP Traders and Infratech Pvt Ltd have been under scrutiny of the department.

The DRI also filed cases against Nitesh Impex, Morgan Trade Link, Rise Auto Trade Pvt Ltd and trader Shakir Ali. Of the accused, the DRI has sought to recover the largest amount of Rs 1.07 billion from trader Flot Raut Ahir, among others, of Shangrila Trade and Suppliers.
