Though he had been working as a freelance web designer since 2002, Swapnil’s career took off after he was awarded the “Wave Web Winner” title award in 2006. His first project was for a VOIP calling card for Himal Technologies, and there has been no looking back ever since.[break]
“Web designing, for me, is an art,” says Swapnil with an effervescent smile that never disappears from his face. Some of his impressive works can be seen on materials for National Campus, Y! Magazine, Kathmandu Medical College, and Hamro Team – to name a few.
Having recently quit his job at the Karobar national daily, Swapnil is now doing freelance work which allows him creative freedom. Currently working on projects like “Naya Bato Naya Paila” – a radio program by the producers of “Hamro Team” – and promotional material for the film “Highway,” Swapnil takes up works that excite him and keep him motivated.
“If I start taking up projects I’m not interested in, the quality of my work will suffer. Web designing is my passion and I have to give it my 110%,” adds Swapnil.

For someone who has never had a formal training in web designing, his work is better than most designers today. It is contemporary. It is fresh. And it is a revolution in today’s world of graphic designing.
He still feels that he has a lot to learn, and is constantly researching and applying new methods at his work. His designs recently found their way into a prestigious design book published by Princeton Architectural Press.
When he is not busy designing, he is busy writing fiction – basically plots for movies – or editing the short films he makes. One day, he hopes to make a full-fledged feature film.
This young designer also has bigger dreams of opening his own designer studio, a one-stop solution to all your branding and marketing needs.
With so much going on, Swapnil hardly has the time to stop and catch a breath, but his passion and zeal for work and life, and countless cups of coffee, keep this multi-faceted designer on his toes.
“Swapnil Acharya” is what the design world in Nepal has been waiting for.
