KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday appointed Dr Ram Kantha Makaju as the vice chancellor of the Kathmandu University (KU). He has been appointed VC of KU for the second time for four years.
Dr Hari Lamsal, spokesman of the Ministry of Education, informed that Dr Makaju has been reappointed as the KU VC.
Dr Makaju's first term as the VC of the university had ended on December 11.
Dr Govinda KC, senior orthopedic surgeon of Institute of Medicine, who staged 10 hunger strikes in the past demanding to reform in the medical education sector, has expressed dissatisfaction over the appointment of Makaju as KU VC.
