Dr Dibya Singh Shah said that the amount of ketones (required to break down fats and fatty acids to use as fuel. This is most likely to occur when the body does not get enough sugar or carbohydrates) in KC's urine and blood pressure are decreasing ever since he started the fast-unto-protest on Sunday. "He has refused oral intake of food. He has been given normal saline only," Shah added.
Dr KC began fast-unto-protest from Sunday after the government 'failed to give heed' to his 10-point demands. This is the fifth protest that Dr KC is staging to pile pressure on government and concerned authorities to address his concerns.
Dr KC has been demanding strict action against officials involved in irregularities, implementation of new medical policy and establishment of medical colleges in rural areas of the country, among others.
