KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Lawmakers from the major opposition Nepali Congress have expressed concern over the deteriorating health condition of senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC.
Speaking at the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Sunday, the NC lawmakers drew the attention of the government to implement agreements reached between the government and Dr KC in the past. NC lawmaker Sitadevi Yadav urged the government to fulfill Dr KC's demands to bring reforms in medical education.

"The government should immediately address his demands as Dr KC's health condition is worsening," she said. Another lawmaker of Nepali Congress Gyanendra Bahadur Karki stated that the government has lost its credibility as Dr KC is forced to launch another round of hunger strike.
"The government has lost its credibility as it failed to address the demands raised by Dr KC," he added.
On the occasion, Nepali Congress lawmaker Minendra Rijal criticized Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for manipulating information on several issues including the country’s economy during a speech in the Parliament last week.
"Most of the details including on the country’s economy given by the prime minister were manipulated. Why did it happen? At least Finance Ministry people should have taught Oli before he came to the Parliament for the address," Rijal said.
