Dr KC’s strike loses its relevance, says Minister Baskota

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has said that Dr Govinda KC’s hunger strike has lost its relevance.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has said that Dr Govinda KC’s hunger strike has lost its relevance.


Speaking at a program organized to make cabinet decisions public in Singha Durbar today, Minister Baskota said Dr KC’s hunger strike has lost its relevance the moment Medical Education Bill was endorsed by both the Houses.

“Dr KC’s hunger strike is meaningless now after Medical Education Bill was endorsed by both the Houses,” said Baskota. 


Baskota further said that had the government ignored the demand of KC, it would not have tabled the bill at the parliament. “Prime Minister KP Oli has taken more initiations to address the demands of Dr KC compared to the previous governments,” claimed Baskota.


On a different note, Oli said that the government is committed toward one China policy.


“The relation between the two countries is established based on the mutual understanding, cooperation and similar concerns,” he said.
