Dr. Kamal Lamichhane enlisted in JCI's top 20

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Dr. Kamal Lamichhane is one of the 20 candidates shortlisted for the Junior Chamber International  Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (JCI TOYP) Award from Nepal.

Lamichhane is the first visually impaired person who has earned his PhD degree. He is the first Nepali person to be enlisted in JCI. He is an Associate Professor at Tsukuba University, Japan. He has previously worked for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA ) as a researcher.  

He has been nominated for his contribution in academics, especially in his interdisciplinary research which aims to identify and provide remedy to social and economic barriers for disabled persons.  Every year, JCI TOYP awards young people below 40 who make outstanding contribution to the world. The list will be reduced to final 10, from which, the winner will be announced as per votes during the 2018 JCI World Congress.
