DPM Singh reaches New York for UNGA

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Deputy Prime Minister and Local Development Minister Prakash Man Singh reached New York on Thursday afternoon, leading a Nepali delegation to the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

According to a press statement issued by Nepal's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Deputy Prime Minister Singh will also address the summit for the adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda. Singh was received at the JFK International Airport by Nepal's ambassador and permanent representative to the UN Durga Prasad Bhattarai and other officials.Nepal's ambassador to the United States Arjun Karki and Nepali ambassador to Canada Kali Prasad Pokharel had reached New York to receive Deputy Prime Minister Singh.

The Nepali delegation was briefed on the programme of participation of Nepali delegation at the UNGA and other high-level events scheduled for the next two weeks in New York later in the day.

Deputy Prime Minister Singh is scheduled to address the Summit for the adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda on Friday and the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on October 1.
