KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha safely returned to Kathmandu today from China. He arrived via a flight from Chengdu, China.
Minister Shrestha had experienced a heart attack during his visit to Beijing, China, to participate in a program related to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Subsequently, he was admitted to a hospital for treatment following the heart attack and was discharged after recovery.

According to his secretariat, Minister Shrestha has made a successful recovery after receiving five days of medical care at Peking Union Medical College in Beijing. He underwent emergency surgery following the heart attack, which occurred shortly after the conclusion of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) in Beijing on October 17 and 18.
While Minister Shrestha's health has returned to normal, doctors have advised him to take rest for a few more days, as confirmed by his secretariat. Minister Shrestha's originally scheduled return date was October 20; however, due to his health condition, he could return on October 25.
