DPM Shrestha off to Japan

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha left for Japan for health treatment on Monday.



Minister Shrestha will be in Japan for at least two weeks to undergo a surgery for cervical spondylosis. Sources said he went to Japan on the advice of Nepali doctors involved in his treatment.



The ailment, if not treated in time, can lead to paralysis. Sources said government will bear all the expenses incurred for the treatment of Shrestha.



There is a provision of government bearing the expenses of the treatment of any sitting ministers.
