SYANGJA, Dec 12: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education Gopal Man Shrestha has faced defeat in Syangja-2 for House of Representatives. CPN-UML candidate Padma Kumari Aryal has secured the victory by 3706 votes.
Aryal secured 35142 votes whereas Shrestha garnered 31436 votes.
Similarly, in Syangja-1, UML candidate Narayan Prasad Marasini has defeated NC candidate Raju Thapa, scoring 39226 votes against 28662 votes. With these results, UML has occupied both seats of House of Representatives in the district.
