KATHMANDU, July 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education Gopal Man Shrestha called on Yang Schchao, deputy chief of mission of the Embassy of People's Republic of China to Nepal, and discussed on the reconstruction of schools damaged by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.
The Government of China had pledged to reconstruct 10 schools in 10 earthquake-hit Himalayan districts. The construction of two schools has already begun.
The dignitaries in the meeting held at the Ministry of Education expected construction of remaining schools to begin soon. "We are about to begin reconstruction of seven schools soon," said Saraswati Pokhrel, joint-spokesperson of the ministry.
