In the inaugural match under women´s section at Morgan Int´l College, the home team were defeated 23-17. WhiteHouse took a two-point lead in each quarter other than the third which ended 8-8. They lead the other quarters 6-4, 5-3, 4-2. Sami Tamang netted nine points for White House. [break]
In the men´s section match at the Dasharath Stadium covered hall, WhiteHouse humiliated VS Niketan 82-37. White House who trailed 20-21 in the second quarter took convincing leads in all the others. Riding on 34 points of Binod Shrestha they lead the other quarters 18-3, 26-5, 18-8.
In another match, NASA hammered Premier 111-33. Taking control of the match from the very beginning, NASA lead all quarters 42-8, 24-8, 23-7, 22-10. Binod Maharjan top scored with 37 points for the winning side while Robin Khatri contributed 34 points.
Earlier, National Sports Council Member-secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary inaugurated the tournament amidst a function. Altogether, 24 teams, including 18 in men´s and six in women´s section, will participate in the nine-day-long tournament to be held under league-cum-knockout basis.
