The airlines said the flights could be reduced further if the strike continued any further.

Binaya Shakya, senior manager-marketing and sales at Yeti Airlines, said they operated only 18 of the 25 flights scheduled for the day. Rupesh Shrestha, senior manager at Buddha Air, said the airline is operating only 30 percent of the scheduled flights due to decline in air passengers.

“We were compelled to reduced our flights as we are getting very few passengers,” he added. Agni Air cancelled four flights on the day, while Guna Air cancelled a flight to Pokhara.
