At an interaction among CPN (UML) candidate of Rupandehi Constituency No. 4, Bishnu Prasad Poudel and doctors and engineers of the area held on Sunday, they suggested that the hospital could be developed as a medical college as the hospital has sufficient land.[break]
Expressing happiness over of Poudel´s plan of opening government owned medical college in Butwal, doctors demanded to develop the hospital itself into a medical college.
On the occasion, Dr. Prayaschit Shrestha said that problems have been surfaced as the medical sector is out of government control and added that it was necessary to put the medical sector under government control.
Another doctor, KB Shrestha, pointed out the need of government medical college for poor people as there was no access of the poor people in the private clinics and medical colleges.
Dr. Mukunda Panthi, Dr. Gokarna Panthi, Dr. Binod Parajuli, Dr. Manoj Dhungana, Dr. Rajendra Khanal, among others, urged to pay attention in development of medical sector like other sectors whereas engineer Dujendra Basnet urged to bring a concept of government engineering college besides government medical college in Butwal.
Leader Poudel expressed commitment to develop the Lumbini Zonal Hospital as a regional level hospital and ICU service would be available soon.
Poudel said that process for establishing government owned medical college in Butwal has been forwarded.
Central member of the CPN(UML), Netra Panthi, Dr. Ram Chandra Acharya, Dr. Khagaraj Sharma, Dr. Bhojraj Kadariya, among others, expressed their views at the programme chaired by Coordinator of expert group, Dr. Ishwor Gautam.
