Do not be biased towards parties, contenders: CEC Yadav

KATHMANDU, May 7: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav on Sunday directed monitors deployed for the May 14 elections to discharge their duty free of bias.

KATHMANDU, May 7: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav on Sunday directed monitors deployed for the May 14 elections to discharge their duty free of bias. 



Speaking at a training programme organised for the monitors here today, Dr Yadav asked them to work as an EC's special envoy to hold the polls in fair and fear-free environment.

"All political parties and contenders are already engaged in elections campaigns. You (monitors) should play a great role to heighten credibility of the polls by sticking to election code of conduct. Do not become bias against any political party and contender," he said. 


Likewise, election commissioner Ishwori Prasad Poudel suggested that the monitors should maintain confidentiality while carrying out their duty. 


Also, secretary of the Commission Gopi Nath Mainali asked those employees deployed for the polls to abide by the election code of conduct. RSS
