Addressing a prgoramme organized by the 19th World Indigenous Day Main Organizing Committee here Friday, Chairman Regmi said that the cultures of all castes and communities living in Nepal have held the nation´s pride high. [break]
Saying that the concepts of inclusion and social justice, and equality should be duly implemented as adopted by the state, Regmi added Nepal government was committed to implementing the ILO 169 in its spirit.
Regmi was of the view that a mature political culture was required to maintain political stability in the country and all should be sensitive for the same.
Chairman Regmi also said fundamental rights of the indigenous and nationalities could be ensured after drafting the new constitution, as holding the Constituent Assembly (CA) election was the government´s top priority.
On the occasion, leaders of different political parties and indigenous communities stressed for ensuring rights of the indigenous communities.
