KATHMANDU, April 12: CPN (UML) vice-chairman Bhim Rawal has said that discussions still remain regarding the leadership management for the unification of the UML and the CPN (Maoist Center).
Speaking at a program organized on Thursday, he said all issues except on leadership of the unified party have been finalised.
The UML vice-chair surmised that the meeting of the task forces of both parties for party unification might have been postponed as the management of the party leadership still remains to be discussed. He said that no formal decision has been taken for the unification of the two parties on April 22.
According to him, the date of party unification would be announced after the unification coordination committee decides on the report presented by the task forces of the two parties.
Leader Rawal opined that both the ruling and the opposition parties should work together for taking the country forward towards prosperity.
Stating that the talk of constructing railway connectivity only up to the Nepal border from India would not be acceptable, he stressed the need of expanding the rail connectivity up to the hilly region as well.
"There is already transport connectivity from India to the Nepal border. There is no need for India to expand rail connectivity to these border places again. We need to operate the East-West railway," Rawal reiterated.
