Discussions on budget for FY 2024/25 underway in parliament (Live)

KATHMANDU, June 2: The national budget for the fiscal year 2024/25, presented by the government, is under discussion in both houses of the Federal Parliament, starting today.

The House of Representatives convened for discussions at around 11 AM, with Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun having presented the annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year in both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly on May 28. Deliberations on the budget are scheduled for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday in the House of Representatives, with Finance Minister Barshman Pun slated to provide responses on Wednesday.

Additionally, a meeting has been arranged at 1:15 PM for a general discussion on the revenue and annual estimates of the budget presented to the National Assembly. Following three days of budget discussions in the National Assembly, the Finance Minister will deliver his response on June 5.
