Discussion on Waste-to-Energy plant held

KATHMANDU: Government officials and representatives of the private sector on Wednesday held discussions on the prospect of generating electricity from waste through Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plant.



 The discussion was organized by the Kathmandu /Eugene Sister City Association to give an overview on how the project would work and why the plant is necessary. [break]



Representatives from the Ministry of Local Development, the Ministry of Finance, US Embassy in Kathmandu, World Bank, Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC). Former chief of KMC Kedar Adhikari had led a delegation to Eugene in Oregon state of the USA last year.
