Darshan BK, 2, of Rammamaikot-3 in Rukum died while five others fell ill in the village. Similarly, with the death of Jaya Bhan Aire, 35, at Shivalinga VDC, the number of people who died of diarrhea in Baitadi has reached 10 within one week.
Besides in Baitadi district, two in Bajura and one in Dadeldhura have lost their lives due to diarrhea in the past week.
As the mercury shot up, Mahakali Zonal Hospital in Mahendranagar is teeming with diarrhea patients. In the past two weeks alone, 138 patients were admitted in the hospital.
According to the hospital, the number of patients in Mahendranagar has increased by 32 percent in the first three weeks of April as compared to last year.
