UDAYAPUR, Dec 19: Diarrhea outbreak has affected dozens of people at Shahikhola-16 in Udayapur district for the past two days.
Diarrhea began from Narendra Karki's home and spread to other homes of the rural village, according to ward chairman Man Bahadur Rai. Karki's son Pushpa Raj, daughter-in-law Naramaya Karki and granddaughter Ranju Karki are among those being suffered from diarrhea in his family.
Diarrhea epidemic in west Dang comes under control
Karki's neighbor Ganesh Budathoki and his family members are also being suffered from the diarrhea outbreak.
Diarrhea patients from various parts of the district have started going to District Hospital, Udayapur for treatment. Currently, 11 persons are undergoing treatment for diarrhea in the district.
The reason behind the diarrhea outbreak has yet to be ascertained, doctors say. However, health workers have attributed polluted water as the cause of the outbreak.
