Diarrhea death toll hits 336

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: The Health Ministry has put the latest death toll of the diarrhea-cholera epidemic at 336 including 154 in Jajarkot.



In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry said 48 diarrhea deaths have been confirmed in Rukum, 27 in Dailekh, 24 in Achham, 14 in Surkhet, 12 in Doti, eight each in Baitadi and Dolpa, seven in Bajhang, six in Salyan, five each in Humla, Rolpa and Dadeldhura, four in Kailali, three in Bajura and Pyuthan, two in Sarlahi and one in Kanchanpur.



The ministry claimed that the epidemic is being taken under control in Jajarkot and Rukum districts while it has already come under control in most of the other affected districts that have been registering some patients sporadically in the past few days.
