The fire spread across the settlement after a cooking gas cylinder went off as a group of Shadhus torched shops following one of the Shadhus was beaten up by the locals in a minor dispute in connection with firewood.[break]
The inferno could not be brought under control even in an hour of the incident due to only one fire engine available in the area.
Locals and security personnel are trying hard to douse the fire.
