Devastating quake death toll climbs to 7059 (Update II)

KATHMANDU, May 3: The death toll of devastating earthquake that struck the country on April 25 has reached 7,059 as of Sunday afternoon.

According to National Emergency Operation Center, a total of 14,122 have been injured in the disaster.


Likewise, 188,806 houses belonging to people across the country have been completely damaged while 1,70,918 houses were partially damaged in the earthquake.

Similarly, a total of 10,531 government buildings have also been completely damaged in the disaster while 14,268 government buildings were partially damaged in the earthquake.

Meanwhile, three persons have been rescued after nine days from under the debris. 4,364 persons were evacuated by chopper from various parts of the country and 6,922 bodies have been handover to family members.
