BAGLUNG, Nov 3: The District Administration Office of Baglung has banned Deusi and Bhailo celebration during the upcoming Tihar festival in the district.
The DAO made the decision to this effect on Monday in the view of the possible spread of COVID-19.
The DAO also decided to enforce lockdown and curfew in some wards as the district is witnessing a sharp increase in the cases of COVID-19.
According to the Chief District Officer, Suresh Neupane, the DAO has decided to restrict all kinds of activities except for emergencies in the four wards of Baglung Municipality. A week-long lockdown came into effect in Baglung Municipality-1, 2, 3 and 4 from midnight of Monday.
The banks and other financial institutions in the Baglung Bazaar will also remain shut for a week to contain the spread of COVID-19.
