Deuba cancels India visit

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Amid ongoing rift between the ruling and the opposition parties over Dr Govinda KC’s demands, the president of the main opposition Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has cancelled his seven-day visit to India.

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Amid ongoing rift between the ruling and the opposition parties over Dr Govinda KC’s demands, the president of the main opposition Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has cancelled his seven-day visit to India.


He was supposed to fly to India on Sunday for regular medical treatment of his spouse Arzu Rana Deuba. 

A press statement issued by the party stated that Deuba decided to cancel his visit keeping in view the unfolding political development in the country.

“It is notified that his India visit has been cancelled for now considering the unfolding political development in the country for the past few days,” said the press statement issued by the party.


The statement said that Deuba decided to cancel his trip considering that his presence in the country was necessary as the opposition and the ruling parties are having serious differences over Dr KC’s demands.
