Deuba appointed as PM of Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 13: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed President of Nepali Congress(NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba to the post of the Prime Minister (PM).

KATHMANDU, July 13: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed President of Nepali Congress(NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba to the post of the Prime Minister (PM).


Deuba was appointed PM as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal, according to the Office of President.

NC President Deuba is currently busy  holding discussions with alliance partners to pick ministerial candidates. Sources close to Deuba said the oath taking ceremony of the new prime minister is likely late evening today. 


Deuba is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy later at 5 PM.


Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court passed a verdict to reinstate the House of Representatives and ordered Deuba be appointed to the post of PM.
