KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government will not backtrack from the decision on announcing public holiday on the day of visit by Indian President Pranab Mukharjee.
The Prime Minister’s remarks comes at a time when there has been a flurry of criticism against the public holiday on social media saying that the decision has undermined national integrity and independence.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday Dahal said, “The decision will not be changed despite protest in social media and mass media”
He was of the opinion that the decision was taken following discussion with President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not on his own will. Dahal said that the state visit by the Indian President will take Nepal-India relation to a new height.
