KATHMANDU, Jan 26:  There has been thick mist and fog in the Terai area since this morning. 

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather in Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of westerly winds in Nepal.

The hilly areas of the country are partly cloudy and the rest of the areas are mainly clear. Most of the places in the plains are cloudy and foggy, according to the MFD.

The MFD further said that the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country this afternoon. Similarly, there is a possibility of light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi Gandaki and Karnali province. 

Light snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas is likely today, according to the MFD.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country and there is a chance of light snowfall in a few places in the highlands and Himalayan areas.
