KATHMANDU, May 21: The high-level Danish delegation, which concluded its three-day visit to Nepal on Thursday, said that Denmark will not support any development towards a ´totalitarian´ state nor towards a strong role of the army.

The delegation headed by Sus Ulbaek, the Under-Secretary of State for Africa, Asia, America and the Middle East in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with senior political leaders and government officials on bilateral development cooperation and the political situation, a press statement released by the Danish embassy said.

The press release also informed that the delegation encouraged the political leaders to form a broad consensus-based government as soon as possible. The delegation suggested that there was a need to institutionalize peace process through formation of a High Level Peace Commission with participation of all major political parties in order to secure an effective implementation of peace commitments.
