During a meeting with Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal at his office in Singha Durbar Monday afternoon, visiting Danish delegation led by Sus Ulbaek, Under Secretary of State for Africa, Asia, America and the Middle East in the Danish foreign ministry, said Nepal is one of the few countries Denmark has chosen to extend its development assistance.[break]
According to the prime minister´s foreign relations advisor Milan Raj Tuladhar, Under Secretary Ulbaek asked the prime minister about Nepal´s development priorities. The prime minister mentioned that agriculture, power and energy, infrastructure and tourism as Nepal´s development priorities.
Besides ongoing peace process and constitution drafting process, Under Secretary Ulbaek had expressed her concern regarding human rights situation and corruption control.
The prime minister told her that they are making progress both on peace process and constitution drafting. While expressing the government´s commitment to end impunity, the prime minister said that strict measures would be adopted to control rampant corruption in the country.
