According to Local Nawaraj Sanjel, they have started a peaceful demonstration in Kathmandu in solidarity with the SC’s order against the government's decision to build the runway of the airport in Tangiya without any alternative.
Sanjel also demanded the government to immediately provide land ownership certificates to citizens of the areas affected by the proposed airport. The locals have been protesting against the state's ‘conspiracy’ to displace locals who have been living there for 50 years. They have demanded the government to give land to the residents of the affected areas immediately as an alternative to their current settlement.
