Deliberations on Appropriation Bill: MPs suggest budget cuts

KATHMANDU, June 12: As deliberations are underway on the expenditure budgets allocated for the Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Health and Population, the Office of the National Planning Commission, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the offices of the President and the Vice-President in today’s session of the House of Representatives, lawmakers have proposed downsizing the budget.

KATHMANDU, June 12: As deliberations are underway on the expenditure budgets allocated for the Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Health and Population, the Office of the National Planning Commission, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the offices of the President and the Vice-President in today’s session of the House of Representatives, lawmakers have proposed downsizing the budget. 


Durga Poudel proposed reducing the budget for the Ministry of Urban Development by Rs 100. She also demanded budget cuts for the Ministry of Health and Population and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister.

Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel sought to reduce the budget allocated under the heading of Urban Ministry Development to Re one while Sher Bahadur Tamang wanted the budget of Ministry of Health and Population to be at Re one.  


Bhim Bahadur Rawal proposed to reduce the budget of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to Re one.
