KATHMANDU, June 4: Lawmakers interpreted the budget through different perspectives in today's parliament meeting. The main opposition Nepali Congress General-Secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala said that the budget was not based on the foundation of reality.
Deliberations on budget for FY 2022/23 continue in HoR
Lawmaker Surendra Kumar Karki opined that the budget was positive and said that the basic needs of people should be ensured by the State. Lawmaker Parbata DC Chaudhary argued that the budget was distributive while lawmaker Padma Giri said if the budget was implemented then the trade deficit will be lessened. Likewise, lawmaker Gagan Thapa argued that the budget failed to meet people's aspiration and create the foundation for prosperity.
Lawmakers Chudamani Khadka, Uma Regmi, Sujata Pariyar, Khem Prasad Lohani, Navina Lama, Hira Gurung, Juli Kumari Mahato, Jhapat Rawal, Bimala Bishwakarma, Gyan Kumari Chhantyal, Mohan Baniya, Rajendra Gautam, Navraj Rawat, Rekha Kumari Jha, Ganesh Pahadi, Gauri Shankar Chaudhary, Bishnu Sharma, Hira Chandra KC, had participated in the discussions and opined their views. The House of Representatives (HoR) shall meet again at 11: oo am on June 6.
