Debaters to represent Nepal in Greece

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Four national debaters are preparing for the 36th World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) 2016 happening in Thessaloniki, Greece later this December. Debaters will be taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday, December 26.

The four debaters represent two national teams from Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University. The teams' participation has been facilitated by Debate Network Nepal as the national body for debating. The four debaters, namely Manish Kadel, Prabin Basyal, Raj Kharel and Pradeep Ghimire have also served as trainers and coaches in various national and international tournaments.WUDC is the largest debating tournament in the world and is hosted annually in different nations on every English New Year. Around 1,300 people from around 75 countries representing more than 300 universities are gathering in Greece this year.

"Upon participation, team Nepal will be well equipped with world class debating experience which shall turn as an asset for our country where the debating culture has hardly flourished," debater Pradeep says.
