IGP Kunwar leaves for Greece to attend drug enforcement conference

KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP) Basant Bahadur Kunwar has left for Greece on Monday morning to participate in the International Drug Enforcement Conference to be held in Athens, Greece.

KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP) Basant Bahadur Kunwar has left for Greece on Monday morning to participate in the International Drug Enforcement Conference to be held in Athens, Greece.


The entourage of the IGP, which includes Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Kumar Acharya, was bid farewell by a group of senior police officers. They departed from the Tribhuvan International Airport at 9:55 am and were scheduled to reach Athens at 6:10 pm with a short layover in Doha.

The 38th International Drug Enforcement Conference, organized by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, is scheduled to take place from September 24 to September 26 in Athens, Greece, bringing together police chiefs and drug enforcement specialists from police agencies across the world.


With IGP Kunwar's departure for Greece, Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Tek Prasad Rai has been entrusted with the responsibilities of acting chief of Nepal Police.
