DOLAKHA, April 28: Saturday's devastating earthquake has claimed 54 lives in Dolakha district so far. According to the District Police Office, Dolakha, details of the exact toll can be ascertained only after a few days because the rural areas are out of communication. More than 90 percent of houses in the villages of Dolakha have collapsed. The quake-hit villages are yet to receive any kind of relief packages. The survivors are forced to live under the open sky as the authorities have not been able to provide sufficient tents.
Although the district authorities had requested for 50,000 tents not even a single tent has arrived three days after the disaster struck. Meanwhile, 700 people have been left in the lurch in Dolakha's Lama bazaar after the earthquake triggered landslide.
